Overnight Maple French Toast

The smell of sweet maple and cinnamon first thing in the morning!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon vanilla

Topping

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick of cold butter

Directions

In a greased 9×13 baking pan; cut bread into bit size cubes. In a bowl whisk together eggs, milk, cream, maple syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla. Pour evenly over the bread. Cover the pan tightly overnight. For the topping; mix the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter and mix it all together until it resembles fine pebbles. Store in the fridge. When you are ready to bake, preheat over to 350 degrees. Remove the casserole from the fridge and sprinkle the topping evenly on top on the casserole. Bake for 1 hour. When serving, drizzle the top with warm maple syrup!
